Victoria’s peer-led organisation for people who use drugs
Our strength comes from the lived and living peer experience of our communities, our team, our members, and our board.
CEO, Sione Crawford
Our Story
Harm Reduction Victoria- formerly VIVAIDS- was founded in 1987 by a group of people who use drugs as part of their direct response to the threat of HIV within their community.
Our organisation is powered by the strength of our peer-led team, members and board. Peer education and community development are as important in our work today as they were when we formed.
We also undertake health promotion, develop resources and offer practical support, services and advocacy for our communities.
We are part of a network of organisations which have national and international peak bodies- AIVL (Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League) and INPUD (International Network of People Who Use Drugs).
